Happy New Year

One thing the L2KH team has always been passionate about was helping people find the tools necessary to strengthen their spiritual path – Christian or not, religious or not. We’ve enjoyed talking to friends about what makes life important to us all and what it has taken for them to either begin a spiritual journey, enrich one they were already on or return to their spiritual and/or religious roots. We agreed that to truly see our value and place in the universe means to realize and then accept that we are lovable and beautiful as we are – not as someone else would have us be. Only by this truth are we then able to greet a world full of need and be able to roll up our sleeves and get busy loving it as we love ourselves.

Last October, our tiny team was dynamically transformed – we lost our beloved friend and founder – Michael Car. In an instant, priorities took their proper place and what was taken for granted one day - became our manna the next.   At the same time, our ministry’s goals heightened as we realized Michael gave us something that will live on in us – his fierce desire to continue the work in 1) helping others work their way out of fear and anxiety so often related to religious addiction and spiritual abuse and 2) pay it forward.  We all agree that our healing naturally causes a ripple effect that reaches far and wide and not just other humans -  but all of God’s creation. In fact, it's the only way we believe it is possible to make a meaningful impact for the cause of men, women and children as well as animals and our environment. We have figured out a formula that so far seems to work and it goes like this: When our greatest joy meets one of the world’s greatest needs – look out, because wonderful things are bound to happen! So, it is with great pleasure and anticipation  to provide the world with on and off-line content that spans a broad and creative library of human interest.  We hope this content will inspire all of us on days we feel hopeless, like when we lose something precious like a job, our dignity, our health, a spouse, a child or dear friend.

In keeping our promise to Michael and to all of you, we want to kick off 2011 with a neat story that hits close to home as well as soothes our spirits and brings us hope. A friend of ours, Michelle, had taken in a mama cat and her eight kittens and fostered them until she could find them a new home. Michael had shared how he and Michelle had prayed over the kittens and would voice his concern over their welfare stating that, “God just has to be loving and kind because if we – as puny humans – can love some stray cats this much – how much more is God able?”

Michael was right! However a person might understand God to be – as the universe or as a loving force or as Jesus Christ – one thing is for sure and that is God is Love. Click on the video above and see how these precious furry friends found a loving and caring home all because someone cared enough to make a difference.

May 2011 bring us all closer to understanding our worth and thereby seeing how interconnected and valuable all of creation truly is. Happy New Year of Growth and Compassion!
