Love Changes Everything

An Australian couple recently experienced a miracle when their infant son, Jamie, drew his first breath after the medical staff pronounced him dead. Physicians and staff spent 20 minutes attempting to resuscitate the tiny baby boy and finally gave up. The child was then handed over to the parents who held and nuzzled him, saying their tearful farewells.  A midwife videotaped the baby's first movements on camera and sure enough, Jamie was once dead but now, alive!  Many are calling Jamie a miracle baby and indeed he is!  Could it be yet another bit of evidence testifying the power of love? Jamie's mum laid her frail son's body on her naked chest where I believe God used her as a heart-swelling conduit of love and compassion so great, it beckoned Jamie to life as Jesus beckoned Lazarus from the tomb, "Come out!"

As Christians, we seek a spiritual birth in Jesus Christ and some days, it is like we are walking in a fog, or worse, through a valley of the shadow of death.  Jesus says, "Take heart! For I have overcome the world!" and that He will finish the good work he began in us (John 16:33,Phil 1:6).  We too, like Jamie, can experience a second chance at life and life more abundantly (John 10:10).
